Preface
The ROGETI RG-1 was born out of an extensive wish list that included a large range of pitching, easy operation, compact size, light weight, strong bearing capacity, impact resistance, precise leveling, a modular platform, and panoramic photo shooting. Through an elegant and smart design, this extravagant wish list has been transformed into a real feature list, resulting in the creation of a new and powerful geared head.

Simple and Clear Knob Layout
The RG-1 features an efficient and clear knob layout, eliminating the confusion that often arises when using geared heads with multiple knobs. The symmetric structure of the RG-1 helps users immediately understand the function of each knob, resulting in a smoother shooting process.
Light Weight and Compact Size
Weighing only 680 grams (1.5 pounds) and standing at a height of 100mm (4 inches), the RG-1 is remarkably lightweight and compact. Despite its small size, it can securely support heavy lens and camera systems due to its low height and 60mm-long bearing platform.
±105° Symmetrical Large-pitch angle, No Interference Between Different Axes
The RG-1's patented configuration introduces a new logical order in its geometry. With an unprecedented pitch angle of up to 210°, it surpasses other geared tripod heads. Furthermore, after completing the leveling adjustment in the left/right direction using the fine-tuning geared knob, the top components remain level throughout the entire 210° range of pitch. This eliminates the need for photographers to readjust the leveling each time the pitch angle changes, a common issue with traditional geared heads. The RG-1 simplifies large pitch angle changes without requiring the photographer to reverse the camera's direction on the mount.
Safer, More Compact for Transportation
When the main bearing platform is tilted to the end position, it fits snugly with the bottom and face of the main body. This reduces the packing size and enhances impact resistance during transportation, making the RG-1 safer and more compact.
Detachable Modularized CAP System
The RG-1 incorporates a detachable modularized CAP system that combines the advantages of both a 4-D tripod head and a 3-D tripod head. While a 4-D head allows for 360° panoramic photos, it often leads to adjustment interference/adhesion issues. The RG-1 retains the independent three-way adjustment of a 3-D tripod head, ensuring accurate XYZ adjustments without dimensional interference. Users can choose CAP modules with different functions based on their needs.
Base Platform
The base platform and pitching barrel of the RG-1 are constructed from a solid block of metal, providing robustness and stability. With a clamp length of up to 60mm, it offers considerable stability, especially when using super telephoto lenses or shooting time-lapse footage.
X-Y Orthogonal Exchange Cap
The CAP-X2Y allows for accurate 90-degree changes in the camera system's direction. It features arca-type dovetails on each side of the cap bottom, enabling installation on both X and Y directions. This ensures precise and independent XYZ adjustments, avoiding dimensional interference. Additionally, the CAP-X2Y can be used as a camera elevator when installed in the same direction as the base platform.
CAP-360 (optional)
The panoramic cap of the RG-1 provides a high locking force, preventing rotation even under strong external forces. For convenient panoramic shooting, a multi-function handle can be connected to the panoramic cap, enabling smooth video panning.
Multi-function Handle S20 (optional)
In addition to its custom CAP designs, the RG-1 offers the option to equip a multi-function handle, further expanding its capabilities. The handle shaft and grip can be separated, providing versatility in usage. The shaft features standard 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch screw holes on both ends, while the grip ends also have 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch standard screw holes.
Video Shooting: When mounted to the base platform or the CA-360, the multi-function handle can be used as a handle for smooth video panning, enhancing the RG-1's suitability for capturing dynamic footage.
Panoramic Photography and Tripod Head Elevation: The multi-function handle S20 can be vertically placed on the grand platform of the RG-1 using the sunken stud connector. This configuration allows the handle to increase the distance between the panoramic camera and the tripod, minimizing the tripod's presence in panoramic pictures and enabling more expansive and immersive shots.
CAP-GZA Geared Panning Head (optional)
The RG-1 offers the optional CAP-GZA Geared Panning Head, a clutchless and precision-driven accessory. This panning head features an integrated Rogeti Dowel Pin and a 360-degree scale, ensuring smooth and accurate panoramic movements. With its precise gearing mechanism, photographers can achieve precise control over their panning shots.
SPN Quick-Release Base
The SPN Quick-Release Base is designed specifically for the Rogeti RG-1 Geared Head. It features two integrated Rogeti Dowel Pins, allowing for quick and effortless attachment or detachment of the RG-1 from a tripod or other Rogeti clamping devices. This convenient base ensures a secure and stable connection, providing photographers with ease of use and flexibility in their shooting setups. Please note that the SPN Quick-Release Base is compatible only with the Rogeti RG-1 Geared Head.
